TARNA VILLAGES
Tarna is a small river in the east of Hungary.
In the villages around it, the majority of the population is of roma origin and lives in deep poverty. For some, christianity is the only refuge in a life burdened with ostracism, unemployment, poverty and bad health . Evangelical sessions full of music and singing are held in backyards. Once every year, a christening ceremony is organized where those who adopt the faith are ritually submerged in water.
